Fields of Definition for Representations of Associative Algebras

چکیده
We examine situations, where representations of a finite-dimensional F algebra A defined over a separable extension field K/F , have a unique minimal field of definition. Here the base field F is assumed to be a C1-field. In particular, F could be a finite field or k(t) or k((t)), where k is algebraically closed. We show that a unique minimal field of definition exists if (a) K/F is an algebraic extension or (b) A is of finite representation type. Moreover, in these situations the minimal field of definition is a finite extension of F . This is not the case if A is of infinite representation type or F fails to be C1. As a consequence, we compute the essential dimension of the functor of representations of a finite group, generalizing a theorem of N. Karpenko, J. Pevtsova and the second author.

Universal Central Extension of Current Superalgebras
Representation as well as central extension are two of the most important concepts in the theory of Lie (super)algebras. Apart from the interest of mathematicians, the attention of physicist are also drawn to these two subjects because of the significant amount of their applications in Physics. In fact for physicists, the study of projective representations of Lie (super)algebras are very impo...
متن کاملCLUSTER ALGEBRAS AND CLUSTER CATEGORIES
These are notes from introductory survey lectures given at the Institute for Studies in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics (IPM), Teheran, in 2008 and 2010. We present the definition and the fundamental properties of Fomin-Zelevinsky’s cluster algebras. Then, we introduce quiver representations and show how they can be used to construct cluster variables, which are the canonical generator...

The article is devoted to the study of language representations of the concept of “woman” in the minds of the Russian and Chinese people based on a comparison of associative experiments of two languages, identifying the dynamics of the concept in the language consciousness of the people, establishing the specificity of the concept in the Russian language picture of the world referring to the Ch...
متن کاملRepresentations of Finite Lie Algebras
The notion of Frobenius morphisms for finite dimensional associative algebras is introduced in [2] and applied there to the study of representations of finite dimensional algebras over finite fields. In this paper, we develop a parallel theory for Lie algebras. Thus, a connection between representations over finite fields Fq and over their algebraic closures k = F̄q is established analogously. T...
متن کاملGauging the Octonion Algebra
By considering representation theory for non-associative algebras we construct the fundamental and adjoint representations of the octonion algebra. We then show how these representations by associative matrices allow a consistent octonionic gauge theory to be realized. We find that non-associativity implies the existence of new terms in the transformation laws of fields and the kinetic term of ...
متن کاملGlobally analytic $p$-adic representations of the pro--$p$--Iwahori subgroup of $GL(2)$ and base change, I : Iwasawa algebras and a base change map
This paper extends to the pro-$p$ Iwahori subgroup of $GL(2)$ over an unramified finite extension of $mathbb{Q}_p$ the presentation of the Iwasawa algebra obtained earlier by the author for the congruence subgroup of level one of $SL(2, mathbb{Z}_p)$. It then describes a natural base change map between the Iwasawa algebras or more correctly, as it turns out, between the global distribut...
